Shed Hunting is just one of the many activities related to deer hunting that can be done in the 'off season'. It is an excellent way to learn more about your hunting areas, and a great way to get some much needed winter exercise. But above all, sheds are fun to find, if you have the patience. Most of the hunters in our group spend many hours a year looking for shed antlers, and have some impressive sheds to show for the time that we put in. Most of our sheds are found in January, February, and March in bedding areas, and other deer 'wintering areas'. Sheds are very difficult to find, and a matched set of antlers should be considered a true 'trophy' to any shed hunter. All of our sheds are from wild, huntable bucks.

Searching for antler sheds is a rewarding activity for many reasons.  If you are a deer hunter, it provides clues to the location and habits of deer that survived the hunting season.

Aboriginal peoples have used sheds to make knife handles, and other tool handles, and all types of artwork. Hunters can also use sheds to make lamps, fireplace tool handles and a variety of other things or just set them around and enjoy their unique beauty.

Hunting sheds is like any other kind of hunting. The more you do it, the better you become.
